Three Big Divestment Summits Are on Their Way!

1) The United Methodist Church

The United Methodist Church will consider divestment at its General Convention in May, led by the United Methodist Kairos Response (UMKR). The 2016 General Conference will be held in Portland, Oregon, from May 10th-20thRead the Divestment Resolution for the GC here.

2) Presbyterian Church (USA)

The Presbyterian Church (USA) will consider new resolutions on divestment, after passing divestment two years ago, led by member group Israel Palestine Mission Network (IPMN). The 222nd General Assembly (2016) will be held in Portland, Oregon, June 18th-25th, 2016.

3) The Unitarian Universalists

The Unitarian Universalists will be considering divestment from the occupation for the first time this year, led by member group Unitarian Universalists for Justice in the Middle East (UUJME). The 2016 General Assembly will be held June 22nd-26th in Columbus, Ohio.

Friends of Sabeel – North America is a non-profit, tax-exempt Christian ecumenical organization seeking justice and peace in the Holy Land through non-violence and education. Sabeel is an international peace movement initiated by Palestinian Christians, who seek a just peace as defined by international law and existing United Nations resolutions.
