Today delegates at the national gathering for the United Church of Christ (UCC) in Baltimore voted to pass a resolution asserting the rights of Palestinian children!
The aim of the resolution is to call attention to “the traumatic situation of children living with constant fear of arrest, detention, and violence at the hands of Israeli forces.” It calls upon the UCC to advocate for their human rights. It asks church leaders to petition the prime minister of Israel and the Israeli ambassador to guarantee due process for Palestinian children and abide by the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. It also calls on the U.S. government to cease military aid to Israel.
